Vocabulary Words:

Critical Thinking students are required to know 25 new vocabulary words every two weeks. Students have a list with all 25 words, including example sentences.

Exploratory students are required to know 10 new vocabulary words every two weeks.

**End of Part I, Vocabulary**
Students have lists of all vocabulary words and should study those words for the comprehensive test on Wednesday, 3/24 or Thursday, 3/25. Exploratory words lists are attached at the bottom of this page.

Process:
Vocabulary lists are handed out on a block day. By the following block day, one week later, students need to have put these words into sentences that SHOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD. They will also have a spelling test on these words, but they will not be asked to give the meaning of the word -- only the spelling. Students have one more week to study these words as the quiz will be on a block day, exactly two weeks after students were originally handed the list. Sentences will be checked for completeness when they are due, but not collected until the day of the quiz.

Students are responsible for filing their vocabulary unit lists in their binders; they will NOT receive a second copy of the word lists. Students will need to study from these lists in order to prepare for the final tests for Parts I and II. In addition, most unit quizzes have review questions of words from previous units, much like the roots quizzes, so students need to constantly review their words.
